Bold beauty trends

The sun is shining, birds are chirping and the sandals are being brought out of hiding. After a rough, bitter cold winter, spring has finally sprung!

By now, your snow boots and jackets should be tucked safely away in storage and with winter clothes being out of the picture, your winter skincare and beauty routine should be transferred out as well.

The winter cold dries out your skin and because of the cool temperatures, and there are different make-up products you should be using.

Spring beauty, like fashion, changes yearly. It’ll be nice to throw on some pastel colored nail polish, a pink lipstick, and get rid of the dark, dreary colors of the cold months.

This spring, there are so many new beauty trends that beauty editors and gurus alike are raving about. Some are old favorites, others are a bit out there but nonetheless your face, skin and nails will thank you.

1. Orange lipstick:

During Spring Fashion week this past fall, all the runway models were wearing bright lips. This is a trend that rolls over from last spring but brands like Maybelline and Revlon are bringing other colors to play, especially orange. Maybelline has a neon orange Color Sensation lipstick called “Electric Orange.” If you’re wearing orange lipstick this spring, you are doing something right.

2. Non-powder Blush:

Benefit Cosmetics made this trend famous with their infamous “Benetint,” a liquid tint that can be used on your cheeks or lips. Now, Benefit is one of many make-up companies that have developed their own lines of liquid blushes. Their newest ‘tint’ is called “lollitint,” a lavender, orchid color and it’s perfect for the spring weather.

Another product that has recently made strides are stick blushes. NARs perfected this style of blush with their “The Multiple” line. This was originally made in only shimmery shades. However, they have recently released “The Multiple: Matte” for those ladies who aren’t as into glitter.

3. Gold eye shadow:

Eye shadow is tricky to keep on in the warmer months because it comes off when your eyelids are oily. This problem can be fixed with a good eye shadow primer.

A great color for over your primer is gold, especially with the unleashing of Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Eye shadow palette. The palette is perfect for the springtime with 12 different rose gold and gold colored eye shadows.

4. White:

Whether it’s white eyeliner, white eye shadow, or white nails, white is the color to be rocking.

White eyeliner has recently made a comeback because of how it makes your eyes stand out. When applied the right way, like on your water line, white eyeliner also helps you look more awake.

White eye shadow can be applied on your brow bone or swept over your eyelids to have the same awake effect.

White is not just for classic button downs, as it also can apply to the color of your nail polish. This color will go with everything, while also keeping your look simple.

There are so many different beauty trends on the market right now, but a lot of brands are tapping into these specific four. Pairing all of these looks together might be a little much but if you take two or three of them to combine, you’ll be the definition of a spring beauty.
