The Peacocks responded with a flawless run, going 6-for-6 to finish the quarter on a 15-4 run and lead 46-42 going into the fourth quarter. Midway through, Iona reduced the deficit to two, but couldn’t take the lead, which gave the team a rough loss.
Next, the team would beat Rider University, 48-40. With a 6-2 lead going into the media timeout, Rider maintained serve on its home court for the opening five minutes of play. Iona went on a 10-0 closing run after Ward’s triple at the intermission. Ward contributed four points, but Adrianna Gonzalez led the way with six points on the run.
