Supernatural Hollywood is out of this world

A paranormal epidemic has hit Hollywood throughout the past few years. The obsession with supernatural movies, books and television shows has been contagious.

Some say it started ten years ago with the first Harry Potter movie and ever since then the theaters and television sets have been overflowing with magical, supernatural worlds.

The real culprit seems to be the creation of the Twilight Saga movies three years ago. Ever since then, Hollywood has become ghostly.

Ever since Twilight blew up and took the world by storm, there has been a spike in Hollywood interest in vampires. Besides “Twilight,” there is “True Blood” and the “Vampire Diaries” which are also high in the television ratings.

Bookstore shelves in the Young Adult section are lined with fictional books on vampires such as “Vampire Academy” and “Bloodlines.” It seems that the teenage generation has become intrigued with the idea of these blood sucking creatures.

But it’s not just vampires that have caught attention of the young world. MTV’s new hit series “Teen Wolf” premiered this summer and viewers welcomed the idea of werewolves with open arms.

The CW series “Supernatural” is entering its seventh season. Supernatural is about two brothers fighting demons in the real world…definitely not your average teenage show.

What is it about the mystical world that has everyone diverged into these alternative universes?
