From 2001-2008, Scrubs aired on NBC, proving to be considered as one of the best shows of the 2000s, with spectacular acting and comedy blended throughout the show. Once the show moved to NBC and was turned into “Scrubs: Med School”, the majority of fans don’t talk about that. However, in 2026, Scrubs returned to its former glory with a 10th season and 8 episodes along with that still proves why Scrubs is just spectacular.
Premiered in February to April 2026, Scrubs focuses on Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian (Zach Braff) comes back to Sacred Heart Hospital to be appointed as the new Chief Of Medicine and trains the new trainees (que joke about Scrubs: Med School), alongside his best friend Dr. Chris Turk (Donald Faison) and his ex-wife Dr. Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke). Seeing the three back together on screen again, while they have not shared the screen in a while, the chemistry between all 3 actors was just absolutely perfect.
The recurring characters of the show see Nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes), doing such a fantastic job, especially in episode 7 by really seeing how her relationship is with J.D. The rookie doctors in the show were surprisingly really amazing, which shown in the first several episodes, shows the differences between these interns and the interns from season 9 (Que another Scrubs: Med School joke). The new head doctor, Dr. Kevin Park (Joel Kim Booster), while starting off as J.D’s annoying foil in the beginning, really starts to get better as the season progresses. Several other characters from the original series do make a return as well such as Dr. “The” Todd Quinlan (Robert Maschio), Dr. Hooch (Phil Lewis), and The Janitor (Neil Flynn) all made fantastic editions as well.
The main recurring character I want to focus on is Dr. Perry Cox (John C. McGinley). Cox was just spectacular as he retired and offered J.D. his role as the Chief Of Medicine, but SPOILER ALERT, when Cox returns, things take a turn for the worse as Cox is revealed to have an autoimmune disease, causing Jordan Sullivan (Cristina Miller) just being a constant burden on J.D. until he gets the results. The only actor I wished who returned was Ken Jenkins as Bob Kelso, but he has stepped back from acting, however it would be funny to see Kelso back.
As the season progresses, the comedy gets funnier and funnier each episode that is added on with just spectacular acting. However, the emotional weight is just absolutely impactful, especially when it comes to the last 3 episodes, but more specifically, with J.D. and Cox. If the show does get renewed for a second season, I cannot wait to see what will happen next.
Scrubs Season 10 is phenomenal. Not only does it continue J.D. ‘s story for new fans, but also brings in new fans with spectacular acting, hilarious comedy, and such fantastic emotional weight that I highly recommend people to watch, and also watch the original. I am praying there is another season because as we all know, J.D is no Superman.
