May 5, 2022
Iona’s second campus in Bronxville is set to open its doors next year. Renovations of what once was Concordia College are currently underway.
To celebrate the start of renovations on the new campus, leaders of the project gathered in Bronxville at what will soon be the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences on April 21. Dr. Seamus Carey, Iona president, and Dr. Darrell Wheeler, Iona provost, were joined by Bronxville trustees William Fredericks, Helen Knapp and Mary Taylor Behrens. Mary Mavrin, the mayor of Bronxville, and Wilhelmina Manzano, NewYork-Presbyterian Group SVP and chief nursing executive, were also present.
The new school of health sciences is in collaboration with New York’s #1 ranked hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian. The hospital granted the college $20 million to promote a quality and innovative education for the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Currently, the school will offer various degrees, including Nursing (BS), Social Work (BS), Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology, Occupational Therapy (MS) and Communication Sciences and Disorders (MA).
