Looking back at my four years of college

It’s hard to believe I’m sitting down writing my last opinion piece for The Ionian as the last few weeks of my college experience comes to a close. These past four years have been some of the best years of my life and have given me memories that I will cherish forever. Iona has provided me with such great opportunities and has led me to meet such amazing people. I could not have asked for a better college experience. I don’t know where I would be without the people I have met these last few years, and I am so grateful that Iona has introduced me to people that I know will be my friends for life.

There has never been a dull moment these last four years and while some times were hard and things haven’t always gone smoothly, the experiences I have had have turned me into the person I am today and helped me grow up. I remember the first day of freshman year like it was yesterday. I remember being nervous and unsure of what college life would be like and if I would even enjoy it. Now as I look back on these last four years all I can do is think of all the great times I’ve had with friends, the academic accomplishments I’ve had and the new experiences that I never thought I would have. Iona has truly been my home away from home and it’s going to be hard to let go, but I am ready for this new adventure after college.

I am so excited for this next chapter of my life and I can’t wait to see what life after graduation holds. While it’s scary to not be a student anymore and enter the real world, I know my time here at Iona has prepared me for whatever is going to come my way. Once again, congratulations to all the other seniors in the class of 2019! Let’s go, Gaels!
