Consistency on offense has been a problem for the lacrosse team so far this season.

The lacrosse team won their second game in a row as they dominated the Niagara Purple Eagles 12-4 on April 1 in Buffalo, N.Y.

This is the Gaels second straight game of scoring in double digits after multiple games having difficulty finding the net.  Freshman Brenna Lade was impressive, scoring four goals, including  three in the 2nd period.

Freshman Bridget Sickles also had an impressive game, contributing two goals. Senior captains Caitlyn Collins and Elizabeth Coholan showed great leadership by scoring two goals apiece.

Junior Casey Scully and Sophomore Brittney Mabus also played a key part in the win, scoring a goal each.

The Gaels dominated the game from the start, scoring the first five goals of the game and never looking back. The win improved the Gaels record with an overall record of 4-7 and 2-0 in the MAAC.

Unfortunately the Gaels came up short in the next games. The first game was against The Canisius Golden Griffins, as they fell short 13-8.

Sophomore Kylie Gregory was impressive, scoring four goals. Coholan and freshman Nina Veneziale contributed two goals apiece.

The next game came against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks in Bethlehem, Pa. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Gaels, 14-9, to give the Gaels their ninth loss of the season. Lade led the Gaels with three goals and Collins scored two. Gregory, Coholan, Freshman Angela Grous, and Senior Kristen Russ all had one goal each.

With a 4-9 overall record and a 2-1 record in the MAAC, the Gaels will take on the Siena Saints at Mazzella Field on April 10 at 1p.m. The Gaels only have three more regular season games left until they play in the MAAC Championships on April 29.

Collins has been the most consist players on offense for the Gaels this season. She leads the team with 42 points and 22 assists, and is also tied for second in goals wih 20, behind goal leader Gregory with 21.
