Erin Kutch SGA President

Senior Erin Kutch, president of SGA, writes about the upcoming school year and events.

Welcome back!

My name is Erin Kutch, and I am excited to be serving as your Student Government Association President for the 2017-2018 academic year. On behalf of the SGA, I just wanted to welcome everyone to campus and say that we hope you had an amazing start to the semester.

For our returning students, we are excited to have you back! Having spent all summer on campus, I can promise it is not the same without all of you here.

To all of our new students, welcome to Iona College! You will quickly discover what a special community you have just become a part of.

Please know that if you have any questions or concerns now or throughout the year, you can always reach out to me or any other members of the SGA! We are here to help you and to advocate on your behalf in order to enhance the student experience.

SGA meetings will be held every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the McGrath Room, which is located on the top floor of the Robert V. LaPenta Student Union. Our office is located on the ground floor of LaPenta. The doors are always open so please feel free to stop by.

A simple way to show your Gael pride this year is to participate in Maroon Mondays. You can simply participate by wearing maroon on Mondays! Every Monday SGA, along with other offices and student groups on campus, will promote school spirit by wearing maroon.

I will be holding open office hours on Tuesdays 2:00-5:00 p.m. and Thursdays 11:00-12:00 p.m. & 2:00-3:00 p.m.. You can also contact me at [email protected]

You can also find the contact information for myself and the rest of the SGA executive board at www.iona.edu/sga.

I urge you to make the most of this year by working hard both inside and outside the classroom. Iona has so many wonderful opportunities to offer, including undergraduate research and internship opportunities, service work and over 80 clubs and organizations.

Keep an eye out for all of the amazing events and activities that will be happening on campus this year!

Best of luck this year and remember – Every day is a great day to be a Gael.
