I just wanted to say thank you to the 2017-2018 student body,

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your SGA President, thank you for your friendship and thank you for being an example of what can happen when people show up.

Dr. Nyre uses a phrase quite frequently, “the world is run by the people who show up.” I have seen that firsthand by the faculty, staff, administration and most importantly, the students here at Iona. I have seen that when someone wants to change something, it can happen, and I have seen the impact one student can make if they put their mind to it.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me—my incredible and hardworking Executive Board, my professors, every professional staff member in the Division of Student Life, the members of the Administration, the Board of Trustees, Dr. Nyre and my friends and family.

Thank you to The Ionian and Anna for giving myself and other students a forum to our voices heard.

So seniors, as we prepare to show up as undergraduate students one last time—thank you for everything.

And remember the WORLD may be run by the people who show up, but it is MOVED by the Iona Gaels.
