“Hocus Pocus 2” on Disney+ is a remarkable movie that brings back the three original witches for their own film. When the first “Hocus Pocus” was introduced to audiences through Disney back in 1993, the film became a fan favorite and a staple of Halloween movies for people of all ages. Kids in elementary school to adults could watch the first “Hocus Pocus” and really get into the Halloween spirit. Viewers shouldn’t miss “Hocus Pocus 2” as it is filled with laughter, adventure, hopefulness and a bit of sadness.  

Just like the first movie, “Hocus Pocus 2” brings the spirit of Halloween and can be watched with friends and family because of the film’s adventure and comedic scenes. The one thing that stands out about this movie is how well they modernized the story as this movie takes place in the year 2022 highlighting the technological developments since 1993. The writers and director did a beautiful job with incorporating technology and modern-day trends into “Hocus Pocus 2.” All three main witches Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson are brought back in this amazing second installment of the film series.  

All three actresses did a magnificent job playing the Sanderson sisters. Bette Midler as Winifred Sanderson, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson and Kathy Najimy as Mary Sanderson reprise their roles as the Sanderson sisters and bring their characters to life. These actresses put on a great and funny performance, and it feels like these terrific women never left their roles of the Sanderson sisters. Seeing the Sanderson sisters interact with modern day trends and technology is the best comedic aspect of this movie. When you watch most scenes of the Sanderson sisters interacting with technology or modern-day trends you are guaranteed to laugh.  

“Hocus Pocus 2” has a wonderful message of family, and the writer did a great job portraying it by the end of the movie. The entire movie slowly revolves around this message of loving one another, which is important when younger audiences watch because it is like learning just through the form of entertainment. “Hocus Pocus 2” is a wonderful film filled with laughs and surprises. The actresses that played the Sanderson sisters once again did an amazing job in reprising their roles. If you are a fan of the original “Hocus Pocus” movie, then “Hocus Pocus 2” is just for you.
