Feeling extremely busy lately? Well it’s guaranteed that Mark Hoppus has more things on his to-do list. Between creating a new Blink-182 album, producing Indie rock albums of other bands, writing a music column on SPIN.com, and hosting a popular podcast, one wonders where does Hoppus find the time to breathe? Regardless, Hoppus doesn’t show any sign of slowing down, as he has covered a new frontier – television.

Hoppus has taken time out of his busy schedule to host a television show on the Fuse Network, called “A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus.” It is a talk show hosted by Hoppus, with co-host and comedian Amy Shumer. The duo has chemistry on first sight.

The television show is similar to other shows, yet unique. Hoppus will interview other musicians and celebrities, even if they are on the road, which brings an interesting aspect to the interview. Hoppus has been in the music scene for quite a number of years now, and has made many contacts, which allows him to have acclaimed guests on his show. Some guests that he has interviewed include Linkin Park, John Mayer, Phil Collins, All Time Low, and surprisingly, Antoine Dodson, the Youtube sensation behind “The Bed Intruder Song.” These interviews are entertaining, funny, and leave the viewers wanting more.

Its one thing to talk about music, but the real excitement is the live performances. Hoppus has brought on many special guests to perform, but with a smart technique. He has performances for veteran, acclaimed musicians with a mix of coming up musicians near their break. Some of these acclaimed musicians include Bruno Mars, Jimmy Eat World, and Trey Songz, and Travie McCoy. Musicians that are on a rise are getting a little push from “A Different Spin,” include The National and Neon Trees.

Hoppus is ecstatic to host this new show, as is every Blink-182 fan in the country. Mark said, “I am stoked to join the Fuse family and have a show where I can talk about a topic that I’m passionate about, music. More importantly, I’m excited to force millions of people to watch me on a weekly basis on national television.” And that’s exactly what’s happening. Millions are tuning in for this weekly television program, as its becoming a most watch music program.

Hoppus and his show is a nice breath of fresh air, and in a dying music scene, he brings it new life. From his incite on the music industry to his cast’s humorous discussions, viewers will be hooked from start to finish. You can watch “A Different Spin” every Friday at 7 p.m. on Fuse Network. It’s not every day people can come across a television show that offers live performances, interviews, and comedy, from such a charismatic, outgoing host. Pop-punker Hoppus proves that all the small things, can make a television show tremendous.
