The comeback fans have been waiting for has finally arrived: Justin Timberlake is returning to music in a big way.

It’s been six years since Timberlake released an album, and now he’s ready to return to the art that made him famous.

On Jan. 10 Timberlake released a YouTube video saying that he was ready to return to music. Five days later, he released his latest single, “Suit and Tie.”

Fans responded well to the new single, mainly over the excitement that Timberlake was coming back to his old stomping grounds.

“Suit and Tie” has an R&B tone mixed with that signature Timberlake style. It has a sound that isn’t like anything else on the radio right now. That seems to be just what the music doctor ordered.

The song starts off slow but then quickly picks up to a pace reminiscent of Timberlake’s past. Jay Z is featured on the track, which was produced by Timbaland.

The single has done well during its first few weeks. It beat the record for the total radio plays in a song’s first week in the history of Billboard’s Pop Songs chart.

It has also maintained a position in the iTunes Top 10 chart since its debut.

This is a great sign for Timberlake whose comeback to music will be made official on March 19 when his third solo studio album is released. The new album will be entitled “The 20/20 Experience.”

Although not much has been mentioned about the new album, Timberlake has been making headlines almost every day, keeping his name afloat.

He will be making a few TV appearances to promote his new single as well. On Feb. 2, he performed at the DirecTV’s Super Saturday party, the day before the Super Bowl.

He will also be returning to the Grammy stage on Feb. 10, the first time in four years. Timberlake will take the stage to perform “Suit and Tie” in front of music’s biggest names.

Along with music, he has dabbled in fashion with his men’s line “William Rast.” For his new collection, Timberlake is pairing up with Tom Ford. It will range from the obvious suits and ties to loafers and cufflinks.

Timberlake debuted this new partnership by wearing a Tom Ford suit at the most recent SAG Awards.

With all this publicity surrounding Justin Timberlake, it could feel as if his comeback to music isn’t as sincere as fans would hope.

Aside from television appearances and fashion deals, the most coincidental happening comes in the form of Myspace.

Last year Timberlake bought former social media site, Myspace, and some critics feel that this comeback is tied in with him trying to resurrect the site.

Whether it’s sincere or not, Justin Timberlake is returning to the music scene and that’s all that matters.
