This spring, weather will be bringing a lot of perks: studying outside the library rather than inside, followed by iced coffee and Red Mango breaks in between, and of course, spring trends.

Fall Fashion Week showed us what we can expect, and now the time comes when we can start wearing them. Luckily many of the trends consist of things you may already own, or are college-budget friendly.

1. White button-down shirt:

White-button downs are a classic wherever you go, and are no longer just a trend reserved for school uniforms.

There are benefits that come with this trend: they’re inexpensive and you can find them almost anywhere.

Not only is it a classic, but it’s also versatile. Tuck it in and pair it with boat shoes for a preppy look, or wear it with a leather jacket and sneakers as a more casual styling.

2. Iridescent coloring:

When looking at iridescent clothes it may seem like they’re too flashy, but a way to incorporate this trend is to use this style as an accessory.

When going out on the weekend, an iridescent clutch goes perfectly with your favorite little black dress. This trend is not exclusively for your night life.

Instead opt for iridescent sunglasses, as they’re guaranteed to help keep you up with the trends, without being too flashy. Tilly’s and Wet Seal offer the same style and color, but for much less.

3. Prints:

Whether you’re wearing a printed pair of leggings, shorts, or a shirt, prints come in different color templates so finding one to your liking is simple.

Some great ways to achieve this look are through wearing floral prints. Try pairing a plain top with a floral skirt.

4. Festival wear:

Inspired by the popularity of outdoor festivals like Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival, many stores now offer clothing to fit the festival trend that you can wear outside of actual festivals.

Forever 21 has created a line around this. Spring has brought the return of crop tops, kimonos, and jean jackets.

5. Black and white:

This is a trend we saw throughout award season on red carpets and is carrying on into the spring on campus. The best part is that many of us follow this trend without even realizing. Black and white Converse, check. Your favorite worn in black or white t-shirt, check. Suddenly your lazy dress day in class was a purposeful fashion statement.

From the classic button-down to bolder prints, spring fashions offer something for everyone.
