Kanye West debuted his latest album “The Life of Pablo” and fashion line, Yeezy Season 3, at Madison Square Garden Feb. 11.

If you weren’t able to secure tickets for the MSG showing, a live stream of this event was conducted nationwide in movie theatres, including New Roc City’s Regal Cinemas.

This event kicked off New York Fashion Week, and had appearances by celebrities and fashion icons, such as Anna Wintour, Karlie Kloss and 50 Cent. Alongside them were the rest of the Kardashian Klan, including Lamar Odom. This was Odom’s first public appearance since his life-threatening emergency.

As a whole, YS3 was consistent with West’s previous fashion shows and vision, featuring models wearing muted colors and oversized jackets draped over form-fitting jumpsuits.

Some notable models in this show were fashion mogul Ian Connor, rapper Young Thug and supermodel Naomi Campbell. Models were scattered across the stage, and some stood on elevated platforms.

As for the extras on the floor below, they wore thrift store items dyed to match the color scheme of YS3.

From trying on countless clothes to being transported from location to location, audience members could truly see the impact the preparation had on these models. As the show progressed, the models began to sit down to take a rest; some began to fidget subconsciously, while some began to cry.

But really, who would blame them? These daring men and women were standing in the center of blinding lights and thousands of people, all for West. This was clearly a surreal experience for many.

West thanked everyone who had supported him in his fashion endeavors. But it wouldn’t have been a true West show if he hadn’t taken a jab at those who did not support him, such as Nike.

In creating West’s popular shoe collection, Adidas took upon West and his vision after Nike had denied him. The shoes were a massive hit and sold out before anyone could even say “Yeezy Boost.” West made it a point to say that he will be lowering the price of his shoes in the future, and that it is all a “learning curve.”

As for his album, many believe it to be reminiscent of West’s oldest albums combined with his hotly debated, Yeezus. Despite the obvious aggressive and vulgar lyrics, West claims this album to be a “gospel album.”

Songs such as “Ultralight Beam” have proven to be fan favorites. The euphoric beats of the album as a whole paired well with YS3.

The title of the album is something that’s fallen under heavy scrutiny.

Some of the potential names included “So Help Me God,” “SWISH” and the most controversial: “Waves.”

Fans are just happy that West has finally made up his mind. Through this album, West has made TIDAL the No. 1 downloaded app and the media can’t stop talking about West.

Even if you’re not a West fan, you do have to give him some credit. He stays true to his artistic vision and consistently gives people something to discuss.

If you missed this highly anticipated event and want to catch up on all of the action, it’s available on TIDAL.
