Valentine’s Day is a few days away and if you’re struggling to decorate your dorm or want to make a creative gift for your significant other, these DIYs are just what you need. One quick trip to the craft store and a little elbow grease is all you need to make this holiday and your Valentine date feel extra special.

Queen of Hearts Garland:

Your walls may seem a little bare without stockings and Christmas lights, so jazz them up with a Valentine-themed garland.

What you’ll need:

1. Red or pink ribbon

2. Playing cards

3. Hole Puncher

Step one: Separate the hearts suit from your deck of card, and set the other suits aside. Use your hole puncher to place two holes in the top of each card, about one inch apart.

Step two: Thread your red or pink ribbon through the holes, weaving them around each of the cards.

Step three: Secure the cards by tying a knot at each end of your garland. Hang your work around your apartment or dorm.

Customizable Valentine Snow Globe:

Make use of an old mason jar by turning it into a priceless present. Your significant other will love the extra special thought you put into this project.

What you’ll need:

1. Mason jar

2. Glitter

3. Glycerin

4. Water

5. Hot glue gun

6. A figurine of your choice

Step one: Remove the lid from your mason jar, separating the lid’s disc from the band.

Step two: Take your figurine and glue it to the inside part of your mason jar’s disc. Don’t be afraid to get creative. For extra uniqueness, use an action figure from your significant other’s favorite movie or an ornament of their favorite animal. Allow the glue to dry as long as necessary.

Step three: Fill 1/3 of your mason jar with glitter, then fill the top with water and a few drops of glycerin.

Step four: Put your mason jar back together by sealing your lid back on tightly. Then, fill the jar over and watch the snow glob come to life. Add a red or pink ribbon around the lid to make it extra special.

Paper Wreath Heart:

Deck our your door with this super simple creation.

What you’ll need:

1. Cardboard

2. Scissors

3. Red or pink construction paper

4. Tape

5. Hot glue gun

Step one: Trace out a heart into the size of your choosing onto the cardboard and cut it out. Make sure that it will be large enough to stand out on your door.

Step two: Roll your red or pink construction paper into cones of various sizes, taping them together at the seams.

Step three: Hot glue the larger cones around the outer edge of your cardboard heart. Continue to fill the heart with your paper cones. If you want to add a little extra something, hot glue a fake rose to the center of your wreath.

Step four: Hang on your door or your wall using ribbon or command strips.
