Donuts and coffee are an iconic pairing and go together quite nicely for breakfast, lunch, or dinner treat. There are many donut or coffee franchises that serve as a nice treat for people all over the world and the most notable one is Dunkin Donuts. Dunkin is an iconic franchise that offers many types of donuts and coffees to appeal to different sorts of people.
Dunkin is offering seasonal donuts at the moment, so if you’re in the mood for spooky donuts this October make sure you swing by the one on North Avenue or any that is the closest to you. Arguably, the most iconic Halloween donut they offer is their spider donut, which is a yeast doughnut frosted with orange icing, topped with a chocolate-glazed Munchkin, and finished with chocolate drizzle for legs and white drizzle for eyes.
With these little details, it makes the entire treat resemble a spider. This donut is so popular that they’ve made merch based off it such as an inflatable Halloween lawn decoration or a keychain that is in stores for a limited time. I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy the donut on many occasions and can say that it is a consistently good donut. Additionally, the idea of putting a munchkin into the hole of the donut is a great idea and a fun combination of what Duncan has to offer.
Donuts aren’t the only foods offered at the establishment, as they also serve a variety of muffins, bagels, toast and sandwiches. They have bacon or sausage, egg and cheese croissants or bagels, which are delicious and pair well with coffee. My personal favorite breakfast item they have to offer is the “Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich,” which is a sandwich consisting of two eggs, bacon and white cheddar cheese cooked to perfection on nicely toasted sourdough bread.
They also have stuffed mini bagels, hash browns and wake-up wraps, which are also delicious. Each food item they offer all have their own interesting flavors and pair well with different drinks on their menu and because of this, it makes them worth a shot to try.
The coffee offered at Dunkin is a perfect boost of energy to start off a day of classes. A hot or iced latte is the way that I start off my day and it has butter pecan or caramel flavoring for a nice splash of sweetness. Personally, I like almond milk over whole milk, but the type of milk and flavoring for the drink is up to one’s personal preference. I am also a major fan of the seasonal flavorings they have. My favorite is the peanut butter flavor that is offered during the latter half of the fall. Unfortunately, though, it has been replaced by the nutty pumpkin flavoring, which fills the peanut–butter–sized void in my heart.
Coffee isn’t the only type of beverage offered at Dunkin, as they also serve teas and juices, like chai tea, matcha lattes and their signature refreshers. These drinks are made using green tea, strawberry dragon fruit or peach passionfruit flavoring, which I would recommend trying along with the other items offered this Halloween season.
