AJ’s Burgers

AJ’s is great. A secret to many of Iona students it will fulfill your qualms and uncertainties about new places. Many of us at Iona seek new foods, anyway.
AJ’s is spacious. The scene is great for adults including students as well as families. Mixing traditional and modern elements gives the area many textures. The atmosphere is slightly creative, not quite Yaffa like, but extremely inviting. The decoration is in line with the seasons and holidays. Artwork by students from the Ursuline School accompany the walls. My friend and I sat in a booth next to this gargantuan, but gorgeous long mirror. The ceilings were interesting- wooden cross bars with openings to the outside.
On colorful plates a waiter delivers appetizers of pizza (the choices of appetizers are switched frequently). The waiter told me that all of the food is good. My friend had buttermilk pancakes with syrup eggs and fries. The buttermilk pancakes were made with dustings of doughnut powder. I had a zesty western omelet. Even the whole-wheat toast was tasty-it was grilled with some butter.
Even better, it is toothsome. The menu includes: soups, burgers, wraps, open sandwiches, eggs etc. You will be glowing from being healthy unless you have the extra large brownies or sundaes that they sell. 🙂
Overall, I give this restaurant a very high score. I do this because the staff is very attentive and genuinely kind- even if you take a while to order. The food is presented on metal pans and cooked the way you would like. The restaurant is very committed to social and community advancement as well.
What’s best is that it is very affordable. Two meals accommodated with appetizers plus a shrimp bisque soup was around 16 dollars!
