A well-known music video director, Hype Williams, has teamed up once again with rap superstar and the ever most controversial, Kanye West. This time they have come together to create a music video for Kanye West’s third single “All of the Lights,” which was released Feb. 21. This song, which features Rihanna, is off of his fifth studio album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”

The music video and song feature another rap superstar who helped make this song and video, one to be remembered. This superstar goes by the name of Kid Cudi.

The video for “All of the Lights” was rumored to be inspired by the opening credits of the film “Enter the Void.” The video starts with a noir film theme, in black and white, as a young girl is seen walking around the streets. As the scene fades out, Rihanna’s voice chimes in and the chorus begins. Since the song is called “All of the Lights,” it is only appropriate as the chorus plays for the song’s lyrics to appear across a black screen with bright neon colors.

The words pop across the screen so fast it is almost impossible for one to read it, but if one knows all of the words to the song, then this video is perfect.

The video goes on for two minutes before the songs artist, Kanye West, even appears on the screen. As Kanye’s first verse begins his words are brought to life through visual aids. A man known for being extremely controversial and doing things his own way, he chooses to stand on police cars as he continues to rap the lyrics to his song. As the song and video proceed, the bright and blinking lights continue to flash across the screen.

The words “All of the Lights” are sung while Kanye raps and this is the first appearance in the video from pop singer Rihanna. Rihanna not only ads vocals to this smash hit but she also adds sex appeal. The singer appears in the video wearing a black outfit that is very revealing but is still able to cover the parts that are not allowed to be seen on basic television.

Although there are only three music artists that appear in the music video, at the end of the video, names of numerous music artist appear. These artists are named because they added vocals to the song. These artists are Fergie, Charlie Wilson, John Legend, Ryan Leslie, The Dream, Tony Williams, Elly Jackson, Alicia Keys and Elton John.

The appearance of theses artist names at the end of the video is Kanye’s way of giving these artists credit for also being a part of the song “All of the Lights.”  The three music artists that do appear in the music video, take the song “All of the Lights” and deliver a video that is just as entertaining and mind blowing as the smash hit.
