Life: Get after it, Iona

Less than two weeks ago, I was sitting on a beach in New Jersey with my family with thoughts of school far from my mind. I love the summer, but vacations take a major toll on my productivity level. Jumping right back into classes seemed much harder in light of the week of sunshine and relaxation I just experienced. I’m sure that to some extent, all of the students at Iona are feeling resistant to buckling down and getting work done.

Even though I didn’t feel settled into my room or feel ready to go sit in a classroom, I made my way around campus to get a sense of what the upcoming semester has in store for me. As I sat in one of my very first classes, a professor said something that made me feel that I need to snap out of my “vacation” frame of mind.
