Players wow in Wilder’s ‘The Matchmaker’

The Iona College Players, known for their annual Fall comedy, took the Doorley Auditorium by storm this season with their rendition of Thorton Wilder’s “The Matchmaker,” a story of everyday people on the search for love and an even bigger search for adventure that proved to be both a challenge and a success for the Players.

Director Brian Strafach, with the help of stage manager Mary Jo Morgan, molded the Players into the perfect cast for a perfect performance, along with the unique set.

This time around the Players transformed Doorley Auditorium’s stage into a round, a type of stage that is surrounded by the audience on all sides. This proved to be a challenge for the cast – but as always, not one they couldn’t handle.
