My name is Hannah McGowan and I am running for Student Government Association president. I am currently a sophomore and have served on the executive board this past year as the Vice President for Administration. Along with SGA, I am a student campus minister at Iona. These two roles have taught me a tremendous amount about leadership, action and advocacy at Iona College. I’d like to apply these principles to the role of president of SGA. There are many things I am passionate about at Iona, but most of all I am passionate about increasing accessibility and inclusivity on campus. I have also seen how students have a real voice on campus. I’d like to be your voice to the administration and advocate for your needs as students. SGA has the potential to make serious change. I believe I will not only listen and respond to students’ concerns, but also create effective change on campus. As president, I would be a true advocate for the students and keep Iona moving toward change!
