On Tuesday, Sept. 30, the CEO club here at Iona University hosted the first of their “Pop-Up Shop” events for the year.
This edition of the event was the first of four that the club will do throughout the school year. Much like every event, this one had a theme, this one being “paradise.”
Hosted outside on the Murphy Green, almost 300 students attended and shopped from the 13 vendors from all different fields, like art, fashion and food, among others.
Those vendors were The Lair, an all-purpose pop culture shop ran by Aidan Rodriguez, Ada’s Sweets, ran by Adaceli Arenas, Arts Prints & Things, ran by Jidapha Vastola, Dressed With Drea, an upcycling fashion brand ran by Andrea Belotto, EmLikesToPaint, a brand ran by Emma Naeseth, Bellissima Designs, a jewelry shop ran by Isabella Shulman, Jaylee’s Sweets, ran by Jaylee-Ann Martinez, Katie’s Crochet, ran by Katelyn Galvin, LUX Naturals, a juice brand ran by Dana Grosvenor, CustomsByNico, a customization brand ran by Nicolette Zaffuto, Scripts, a faith-based sticker company ran by Toni Fullerton, Raina’s Reselling, ran by Raina Graham, and Pikalo Empandas, ran by Nicole Valdez.
The event was great, with it getting coverage from both photographers and Iona University Television, which had a two-person crew there to film something for a future piece. Also, all tables saw attention from the Iona community and saw most tables get some sales.
While not confirmed yet, there seems to be another “Pop-Up Shop”-styled event planned for later this semester. For any updates on this and future events done by the CEO club, follow them on Instagram at @ceoationa.
