Iona University’s entrepreneurship club hit the ground running with an engaging orientation last Wednesday for all returning and new members. Hosted at the vibrant Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, CEO Club members built their own vision board for the semester and presented their vision. Overall, members enjoyed the casual and inviting atmosphere and were eager to explain their vision boards. “I think it’s really about finding a place where you belong,” one member said about determining what club to join. “I’d say the CEO Club is welcoming because there really are no limits on who can join.” Despite being an entrepreneurship club, the CEO Club executive board (e-board) emphasized that anyone can become a member and take advantage of the events and benefits the club has to offer. During the orientation, members also learned more about the club’s mission to foster the entrepreneurial spirit and their events this semester.
Eileen Cordero ’25, the CEO Club President, believes the Spring 2025 semester holds a lot in store for the club. “This semester, we’re having two student-run pop-up shops and introducing on-site visits to startups,” explained Cordero. “We are scaling the ambitions of our plans to the ambitions of our members.” After winning an award for Best Chapter Revenue Generating Initiative at the Annual CEO Global Conference last semester, the CEO Club is looking to build on its success with exciting events this semester. On Feb. 11, the club is hosting Cupid’s Pop-Up Shop, a Valentine’s Day-themed pop-up shop showcasing products and services from student vendors. The pop-up shop will be outside on the Murphy Green, with the rain location being in Burke Lounge on the first floor of Spellman Hall. The first CEO & Hynes Onsight Insight, an onsite startup visit jointly hosted by the CEO Club and Hynes Institute, will happen on Feb. 19 from noon to 5 p.m. The visit will give CEO members a tour of an emerging New York City startup and connect members with entrepreneurs in their fields of interest. Transportation to the site will be provided. If you are interested in joining the CEO Club, reach out to
